Hukarere's School Uniform
When I attended Hukarere, (1981-1985), we needed to purchase three school uniforms. One for Hukarere, and two for Napier Girls High School.
Hukarere's winter uniform consisted of many pieces. The winter uniform was a red tartan kilt, long-sleeved white shirt, red and black tie, a red sweater, black blazer with the school logo, and black pantyhose and shoes.
Hukarere's summer uniform was the same as the winter uniform, minus the tie and black blazer. Also, the long-sleeved white blouse was replaced by a short-sleeved white blouse, and the black stockings changed in favor of white socks.
We had to wear our "Huk" uniform when traveling to and from school, at the ends and beginnings of each term. We also wore them to any social events that Hukarere attended, such as kapa-haka competitions, visits to our brother school, (Te Aute), and funerals, etc.

Napier Girls' High Uniform
When I attended Hukarere, we wore the "Napier Girls High" uniform five days a week, since we attended there for schooling. The winter uniform was a blue tartan kilt, long-sleeved white shirt, blue and white tie, blue sweater, and blue socks or black tights and black shoes. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of the Napier Girls' winter uniform.
The summer uniform, was a navy blue pinafore dress, short white sleeved shirt, and blue sandals or white socks and black shoes.
